Keywords Project

Keywords project logo

For several years RWF residential events have included a session involving discussion on Raymond Williams' Keywords.

In August 2015 an experimental small discussion circle seminar ran at Wortley Hall. It was most successful and productive. see report. Participants worked on the word 'ASPIRATIONAL' during the weekend and afterwards, helping facilitator Joseph Boughey edit the text now posted below

The 'learning curve' on this word and others will continue with additions, amendments and fine-tunings from time to time.

We have agreed that this launches a new RWF programme, augmenting existing national and international ie NYU Keywords, Univerity of Pittsburg/Jesus College Cambridge Keywords , Near Futures On-Line Keywords & RWS Keywords

Crucially, the Aug 2015 weekend demonstrated the adult educational value of workshops, leading to the posting of Keyword 'essays' here.

Further workshops will be planned as part of a longer term, enduring, project similar to (though with smaller groups) the Raymond Williams weekends which have run for over 25 years. Informal pub discussion circles also discussing keywords may feed through their quotes and comments to this RWF project to assist the evolving process.
